Biased Umpiring
India has a good side. I hope that the usually biased referees will not play with the opposing teams . This has gone too far and for too long.
Incidentally what happened to the martial arts aspect to the training of the team?.

Personally I think Spain will beat India. They are at a much level higher than India at the moment.

However, I hope India can pull off at least a draw.

India must win
Could go either way.....will be a very exciting match..Spaniards are fast and dicy..India will have to be aggressive and last out the full 70 minutes with the same fitness and pace.

get real...
India sux, it's that simple. You guys should try to make "realistic" predictions India performed very very bad at olympics and Spain did great... It's not because you're Indian you should predict a 5-0 victory for India or something... Spain's level is much higher so i predict all the ppl who predicted India to win by margin ---> is going to be won by Spain
It's called reality my sons...

Yassin Aslam..another Paki full of gas. My friend you better take a little Gelusil before all of it goes into your head and starts messing with it.
Dont predict a game before the last second. The hooter will tell a score and thats that.Levels are all a hogwash as far as CT2005 is concerened.The team that comes to win on a given day will win it. India and Spain have the capability on any given day. Lets all watch and wait. India bashing will only get you so far Aslam. Grow up before you start giving birth to your own sons!

Hey hey!!!
This will be a great game. And I am telling you from a neutral perspective. I do assure Indians that there will be no umpiring controversies this time around as CT is in Pakistan. It will be a tough game and I don't like to see a draw. I think both sides have good chances but a tricky hint would be "THE TEAM WHO SCORE FIRST WILL LOSE THE GAME". I am more looking forward towards the NED vs PAK game...perhaps will be the best game of the CT. This game will see the largest reception and audience.

Hey WASIMULLAH....a quick tip....Optimism is good but should not bar by Fanatsy. What you think is probably good but not moral boosting for your team. I am again giving you a tricky prediction..."THE TEAM WHO SCORE FIRST WILL LOSE THE GAME"....what you think???

Good Luck
After the Olympics, this is the first major hockey tournament. Some of the teams have a new look and in the process of experimenting. Good luck to all the teams The team that plays well on a given day will WIN.

From India's point of view, considering their back door entry, they should consider themselves lucky to be playing n this prestigeous tournament, so they have all the more reason to put up a good performance, justify their reason for being there and most importantly.. prove their critics wrong.

India have this uncany way of starting off well in a match and then giving it away in the end. this has been the sorrowful story of indian hockey in many years now. this should end. a couple of wins on the international level will bring back that spirit in India, which is dwindling now.

India Wins
Guys,

India is going to win this match against Spain. I admit we have a very youn team, but they have the fire. Though they have an inexperienced team compared to spanish, they played a better game and all becz of lack of experience or silly mistakes they could n't make a complete sweep in the recently concluded game.
But thums up..see india is going to fight and I bet they will be in the top three teams.

Indian team is unpredictable and inconsistant. One match they will win with good margin but second match they will loose very badly. Very difficult to say. I still fee Spain is a better experienced side compare to Indian boys.
Let us see the result in the evening.

Usual hype before the tournament, but when it matters India are absolutely crap. Hopeless idiots.
Worse than usual start. Things will now go downhill fast. I expect 5-6th place play off, with loads of thrashings on the way!!

Hey Hey what UPP
What a fantastic and sensational start by INDIA in the tournament. It easily shows how well they are prepared for CT. It would be a better encounter if South Korea would be rewarded their place. Completely one sided affair. Now would you guys still cry over unjust umpiring or astrotrough conditions. If you guys still complains then its not the problem of conditions but its a problem with you guys!!! Anyways best of luck against atleast NEWZEALAND. May HOPES will not FLOAT against NZ.

Lets stand by the team, Till the last minute of the last game !
yes, India have been beaten. But I just watched the game on the internet , India did reasonably well.

The first half was a disaster for hockey in general. India actually played much better in the second half (yet conceded the goals).

Umpiring was generally good. However, India were denied a legitimate goal and a clear penalty corner. Spain got a goal that they should not have been given. If the umpires wonder why Indian hockey fans scream of bias, hey how come we are always at the recieveing end of umpire mistakes ?

1st Goal
=======
spain take a free hit from just outside the indian circle. The ball is rising and the indian players including GK are just passively watching the ball waiting for the umpire to stop play for dangerous rising ball. But umpire does nothing and the spanish player simply taps it in.

Goal 2
======
Brilliant goal, from a long cross that splits the entire defence ( Dilip tirkey slow to react here) and the spanish forward acrobatically traps and scores. Indian GK should have stayed on the goal line instead he was advancing. Full credit to spain here.

3rd goal
========
Penalty stroke due to needless foul by Dilip tirkey(immediately after Indias denied goal). Actually dilip tirkey had just been shown a green card for contesting India's denied goal and the foul was committed in frustration on the spanish counter.

4th Goal
========
Indian GK Devesh chauhan blunder. Straightfoward push from escarre and Devesh was standing with his legs wide apart. Went right through him.

Watch n Cry
I told you desperate Indians who don't want to face reality. I think the problem with India is that they are full of theirselve, they think they have big rept. but when it comes to reality they suk... I agree any other team, with promising future should have been given India's place in CT. I also find it kinda lame AUS did not participate, but I think India has the biggest chance when they play Pakistan. Because they share same style in some kind of way, wich is lame of India. First of all they suk, and will lose alot against other teams in CT, second if they win against Pakistan they feel better?! No pride at all... My wishes to Pakistan they had a rough year, and worked hard so they earn to win...

Thanks Dude for your detailed info. on the India-Spain match. Today, we've lost 5-4 to Holland which, all said and done, is not too bad. Lets wait & watch how we fare in remaining matches. If we can get the better of New Zealand and Germany, we could well be playing for 3rd & 4th place!

well finally u agreed to y.aslam for the facts ? u can look at spain, they have hired a goodcoach from holland and he has changed the entire environment, i mean in 2004 spain is no longer easy push away infact they are fav for the CT ,i think dutch are not that strong as spain is currently, finals will be b/w either pakistan -spain or spain-holland?

Dude & Charles
I commend you both on your optimism, but I have to disagree . 4-0 is a pretty conclusive loss & although we lost 5-4 to the Dutch, we conceded 12 PCs!!
The Dutch also had a goal disallowed & missed a few sitters...we are nowhere the top teams.
Indian teams are handicapped always by stupid selections, but the reality is that we are hopeless at defending.

Problems of winning !!
This is our problem of winning that we extra evaluate ourselves.Pls dont over estimate yourselves.All knows,Dutch number one,Spanish number two and third place many or can predict Pakistan and thats all.
First see the past records of one team then estimate your predictions.
India lost a lot of matches and still lIndians says we will win.At what scale ? Coaching,managements,practices,players performances counts on one team's betterment to boost for next encounter.
I like Pakistan but applaud for winner only.
