Pakistan has bright Chances to enter into Final Insha Allah.I hope they will not take Spain slightly.
Pakistan already win over India now there is only Pakistan who has to show his best performance against Dutch and Spanish.

I dont think anyone quite realises the potential of this kiwi team, while they were scrappy against the germans, they were pretty much all over them. We need a big game from Paul woolford in goal, as he hasnt been performing at his best. Just wait till our boys start firing against the indians, bronze medal here we come!

Come on Kiwis, we know want you to beta India so Gill, Jyoti and Rach & Mob can be sacked as we would like to see prper players in the side, Gagan, Prabjhot, Vikram and not little Boys who are playing at the moment.

You guys have a higher level Coach so if he gets his thinking cap right, India is nothing but remember these are Junior Boys and have learnt a lot therefore Junior World Cup, Watch it Boys but for the moment we hope you will beat us and finish last.

Predicted score 4-3 as wished by jaswinder from Norway.....But who will win ...I am not so sure!!!!But no one should cry on umpiring after this match....please accept if you lose.

well spain beat Pakistan 3-0 and i think they will llift trophy for the first time and i want to see them? eventhough they lost to holand in round robin?

i think Pakistan and india are in the same boat ,both teams are 90% same in playing? very slight difference, so these 2 countries hould take seriously and think abt future as hockey is dieing in this region! should pay attention on youngsters and start hockey from school levels ,as all young generation is watching and palying cricket !

Thanx DSouza and Chauhan
Adrian and Devesh are the only saving grace in the Indian team.I rate him to be the best in the world. This current team is not worthy of winning and must realize it soon. The forwards dont exist and the midfield is like a school team.Defence is a bit good.U cant play slow and dead hockey and then aim at beating giants like Holland and Spain whose dribbling and pace is sheer magiclike and makes a fool out of the Indians.Iam fed up with this excuse of building up new teams after every major tournament. They cant score against the Kiwis till the second half. It's a shame.Kiwis have just scored.Good for India.Thw whole team must be changed bcoz they are not improving by any standards.Rach is not to be blamed. The talent on the field is limited.I dont expect hallapa & co to dribble and dodge like Dhanraj and gagan coz they are not in the same leaue. As for update the Punjab Team from India beat Pakistani Punjab 3-0 yesterday at jalandhar with players like gagan, Prabhjot, Thokore and Kanwalpreet...........in the team...

Serves NZL right
What goes around comes around folks. Guess what, a "controversial" goal by India takes it to the Bronze medal game while NZL gets ready for the wooden spoon. Pakistan umpire was correct in his decision to award the stroke to India. Live with that you all Kiwis.

Poor Umpiring decision allows a tie
Final score 1-1
Kiwis rightfully lead the game with 13 minutes to go only to end up with a draw after the Pakistani Umpire awarded a phantom penalty stroke. Rick Charlesworth called the decision woeful and a travesty. Slow motions replay also shows no foul.
On the other hand the Kiwis had 7 corners and missed two of their deflections by the length of a hockey stick. The Kiwis definitely missed Shaw's PC conversions and Parag's circle Nous.
This was a game that the Kiwis should have won by a couple of goals.
Just dont lose to the German B team in 5/6 playoffs.
Spains win over Pakistan was sublime..The Spanish broke the Paki defence down like a bowl of Paellla..with great gusto and effort.
Hope Spain takes 1 but the Dutch have a lethal PC combo and will probably prevail.

India have made it to 3-4th place play off.
Frankly that is more than expected off this particular team.
Pakistan will be too good for them in the next match.
Will this be the end of Rach?
I was hoping he would bring some method into India's play, but looks like India still play like headless chicken!!
A better coach may improve things, but its the players who are at fault for such mediocre hockey!
In reality, India are 6-7th in world rankings & on any given day can lose to lower ranked teams, but never really threaten to outplay those above them.

RACH...THE PHANTOM
Where is our verbose coach now? Why hasn't he extalled the Indian game?

Not a peep from him!

It is good I did not watch the match. More heart burn.

The significant news is that Gagan, Thakur, Prabjoth etc. playing for East Punjab blanked the West Punjab team.

You can't keep class down. They'll be back!

Rach is now racked!

Hopeless
I am so amazed that some of the Indian supporters are happy / Satisfied that India atleast qualified for the Bronze medal game. Come on guys open your eyes. I was very fed up with what Indians have done so far in the Ct but still I decided to watch the game hoping for some improvement.

To be honest if these players are the future of India then God bless India. Please dont give the same crap that this a young indian team and bla bla bla. They need time to settle etc etc.

If there was a rule in hockey that a team is allowed to number of fundamental errors India would top the list. They were absolutely pathetic. What are the Forwards expecting that they need a empty Goal in front to score. And there is no point in talking about the defence and midfield.

There are only four players who should be in the team that is Two goalkeepers, Viren and Dilip.. Rest of them are crap absolutely crap. Those who were advocating for the young guns like Vivek Gupta, Tushar Khandekar, Girish Pimple, hari prasad etc etc first ask them correct there basics.

Mike and Stroke award
Mike from the slo-mo replays it appears that the Indian lead player took a dive. There was no stick obstruction or stick tackle as Charlie broke down the play on slo-mo cam. It was a very bad decision and the Kiwis had a right to be aggrieved...having said that the Kiwis had very poor finishing inside the circle and muffed a number of deflections . Towns would be shooting a rocket up a few of the Kiwi forwards.
Its fair to say that Hayden Shaw rocketed the Kiwis up the International rankings..without him they are an 8-12 team at best.
Maybe a rich Kiwi benefactor can pau him enough cash to quit cricket .

Can't we just say that there is a terror threat and get out of there now?

game made me sick
i saw the IND-NZ game online. I was hoping India would be out to prove a point. Instead they were playing for a draw from get go & they were lucky to get away with one. They had no ball posession. All they did was scoop the ball across the midfield & it kept coming right back at them. The only offense they had was a rare counter attack but the inexperienced forwards did not do much with it. I would rather India go down fighting than play with this defeatist, negative attitute. In my opinion all they need to incorporate is European fitness, speed & game planning. They have everything else which would be skill, passion, etc. Instead they have a new style of play which appears to be sitting back in defence & send this long balls in hoping that someone traps & scores. There is still no variation in PC convertion. The only players that stood out were the GK adrian, dilip, viren & halappa.
I love Indian Hockey but i don't think we stand any chance of winning against the likes of pakistan with this game plan.
I give India credit for scoring 4 goals against netherlands but it was partly because the netherlands defence was erratic. In terms of skill, the indian game was nowhere close to the game(3-4 loss) we suffered to netherlands in 03 CT.
I guess India has achieved their goal of playing for a medal & that should satisfy a lot of people in the IHF & media but as fan of great hockey i have one less team to look upto.

Bronze for India,
Even if India wins bronze, don’t get hyped. Coz this team (excluding goalkeepers and defense) doesn’t have the killer instinct. Only players from this team who can stay are Veren R, Dilip T., William Xalco, Arjun H, Ingrence T, Sandeep S. (For Drag Flicks) and two goalkeepers. Scratch off Rach. Only coach who believes in attacking hockey can succeed in India. This coach has so many differences with other good Indian players
Not in this team. IHF don’t mess up the career of those players who are kept home without any obvious reason.

This Indian team not up to much
I agree with most of the dissatisfaction expressed here about this Indian team. Except Adrian D Souza, Vikram Pillay, and Arjun Halappa, others dont seem to be in the right class. May be they are still juniors, but why is the damn IHF not letting genuine class players like Gagan and Deepak on the field? Some of you guys mentiond Viren, but I saw all matches and he was fumbling and falling so many times within the D conceding penalty corners. What's up with this Tushar Khandekar dude? He is pretty much useless at this point, all this when someone like Gagan is cooling his heels. Someone must tell Sundeep Michael to just shut up and play. He messes up with most passes that come his way and all the time arguing with the umpire. He is just unfit to be in India forward line. Arjun Halappa is the only guy in the forward line who looks like he belongs. His body fake and the goal against Germany is classic India. Dilip may be a good defender, but is he a good enough Captain? Overall, this Indian team just doesnt look like the teams of the past, struggling against lowly teams like New Zealand.

Kiwis deserved a kick
After the much criticised Biasing against Idia at athens the Kiwis got a taste of their own medicine.I am damn sure the foul didnt call for a stroke and Umpire Faizi was deliberate to award the stroke..support ASian hockey and prove a point..if u can do it..so can we....Europe dominates the FIH and these white upires have always been biased,,,so Faizi did a good dosti gesture It may not be ethical but it proves a point and must be taken seriously by the FIH.

Rach is making the team play a defensive game. But I think the current Indian team does not deserve these scathing remarks.

In defence of the current team
Rach is making India play a defencive game with counter attacks. So sure, it looks un-attractive. But, I am seeing a well layed out strategy ( for the first time ever) aimed at a well defined objective ( again a first time ever) of finishing 4th or higher.

One thing I credit this young team with is unity, determination and fighting spirit. I am sick of all these stars fighting amongst themselves and even willing to see the team loose rather than someone else score a goal.

True, gagan, Prabjoth, deepak and company have better skills. As a mattr of fact, baljith singh dhillon is the most skilled hockey player that
You think that Vivek gupta, tushar hari, and Vs Vinay cant dribble and show fancy skills ? Have you seen the games with Harinder singh as coach where the emphasis is on attack ? These guys can do fancy stuff if needed. But there is the point ..If needed.

each time tushar, hari, Vinay or vivek gets the ball, they look to pass it on to the best placed player and cover ground as quickly as possible. That is a different form of hockey, unattractive yes, but effective.

First goal against germany is an example. Dilip sends a powerful diagonal cross from the backline, splitting the german defence. Vinay runs in with brilliant anticipation, traps cleanly on the run and with one swift flick crooses to sanddep in the D who swipes it in with one smooth action. Awesome !

Comeon man, what where gagan, prabjoth and baljith doing at the olympics ???? they sucked big time!

We really appreciate the fieldhockey.tv initiative. But once you make a deal, you've got to stick to it. I paid for the india vs newzealnd game and I want to see it !!!

Arent you able to see live matches? I hope you are looking at all the listings. Sometimes, the first page doent have what you want, but when you scroll thru later pages, its always there. This is for live events. Havent tried for on-demand, but likely similar. The page scroll button is not very visible, got to look for it.
