Pakistan will win.
Pakistan has learnt a lot in their past performances and still that time the palkistani team was favourite.
But now,Pakistan is already very tough and well prepared.Insha Allah Pakistan will win by 2 or 3 goals.
Pakistan's critical and hard point will only against the Spanish team than the Dutch team.

Pak vs Spain
we will see a thrilling match. Spain has come up with amazing performance, especially, in the later part of the 2nd half, they has proven their strength through out htis CT. Pakistan is also in a good spirit although they have lost to Netherlands. Pakistani forwards should earn more chances for Sohail Abbas to score. This will be a test for Pakistan deffence.

You have point there Mr.Sabir Kazmi.
But there are some other factors that can change the situation as you made the margin of Pakistan-Spain.
Coaching, system of current field, players mistakes must be changed before both teams encounter each other and I am damn sure Pakistan will not take Spanish slightly as it did with Indian Team where people were thinking that pakistan will win over India at a big rates.
Let us hope for a Good and pray For Pakistan.

stupid Paki behaviour...
OMG muhammad zaheer I can't believe how retarded you are -"pak will win by 3 points". They didn't even manage to do that against India, and those guys really suk(, but not so hard as new zealand). Pakistan is at this moment performing very low, and relying hard on Sohail Abbas. I saw them play Germany, it' a development team they've sent and I tell you Pak was struggling their defence. I knew from then they have absolutely no chance of beating Holland. And Spain's level is slightly lower than Holland so I think if you know something about hockey, we all agree Pakistan allready lost. How big the margin for Spain will be, I don't know yet, I haven't seen so many games between Pak and Spain to predict that... Pakistan only had 1 point margin from India, I'm wondering .. are they trying with their new coach to do some ownage, or they trying to suk even more ... if possible ... And no, it's not the Dutch coach Roelant's fault, he's very proffesional probaply some retard Pakis in the team who don't want to follow his rules...

LETS HOPE FOR THE BEST
WATCHING PAKISTAN THROUGHOUT THIS TOURNAMENT I HAVE SEEN THAT OUR FORWARDS SOMEWHAT HESITATE IN COUNTER ATTACKS.....FOR EXAMPLE SHABBIR HAS MADE SOME EXCELLENT BRAEKS BUT AFTER REACHING THE OPPOSITION GOAL HE USED TO LOSE THE BALL OR USED TO PASS IT BACK TO THE HALF LINE...THIS ALLOWED THE DEFENDERS TO GET BACK TO THEIR POSITIONS....I MEAN INSTEAD OF PASSING IT BACK HE SHOULD TRY MORE TO CREATE OPPURTUNITIES...U CANT AFFORD TO DO THT AGAINST QUALITY OPP..CUZ THEY WONT GIVE U A CHANCE ONCE THEY GET IN POSITION..AND SECONDLY PAKISTAN HAVE BEEN VERY POOR AT RECIEVING PASSES..THEY HAVE MADE A MESS OF SOME GREAT PASSES WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN CONVERTED EASILY INTO GOALS...IN THE MATCH AGAINST SPAIN THEY WILL HAVE TO SHOW AGGRESSION AND SCORE MORE GOALS CUZ A TEAM LIKE SPAIN IS NOT GONNA BE THWARTED BY GOOD DEFENCE...CUZ THEY HAVE ATHLETIC PLAYERS AND SCORE ALMOST UNBELIEVABLE FIELD GOALS....5 GOALS FROM PAISTAN COULD ENSURE A WIN FOR THM CUZ THE SPANISH ARE VERY GOOD AT SCORING AND HAVE BEEN SCORING 5 GOALS EVERY SECOND MATCH...WELL I SAY WE NEED TO SPLENDID FIELD GOALS AND 2 OR 3 PENALTY CORNER CONVERSIONS..AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST..VERY TIGHT DEFENCE...IF I LOOK AT THINGZ REALISTICALLY ITS 4-2 FOR SPAIN....BUT IF PAKISTAN PLAY TO THEIR TRUE POTENTIAL THEN ITS 4-2 OR MAYBE 5-2 FOR PAKISTAN..ALLAHUAKBAR..PAKISTAN ZINDABAD

Pakistan have to deliver
it is about time that pakistan deliver the goods on the field. Its an on going saga, about the downfall of asian hockey. But pakistan will not get a better chance then this to win the CT. they have to play the game against spain thinking of it as a final. After pakistan lost to Spain in the olympics, they put it down to taking it to easy in the game, so they have another chance to get it right this time.
May the berst team win on the day

Asian Hockey
asian hockey is dying. whosoever thought otherwise were just fooling us. India fluked in 1st half of 2002 only to be exposed in CT then. Pakis aren't even at that level where India was then.
Gill has ensured India's fall in a well from where only God can rescue.
Korean Hockey has already died.
So there is no future for asia.
Spain looks set to whip Pak by 3 goal margin.
Pak is over relying on Sohail. He has already been exposed against India. a good PC expert is only as good as his Forwards. without there help he can't do anything. unless we improve dramatically, we are no match to europeans.

Good game on the cards... Pakistan may win this and reach the final. Have to defend well against the Spanish forwards and half the job is done. Having said that, I DO NOT see Pakistan winning in the final against the Dutch... they seem to unbeatable this time around.

ANother Fact
i predicted spain vs pakistan match before...it was based totally on numbers...and i predicted 2-1 in the favor of Spain...
You take any two teams, if you want to find their result...compare them with other teams..like goals scored against other teams and goals taken...you'll find that the ratio is ...(Goals scored by Team A - Goal Scored by team B)=C
(Goals taken by team A-Goals taken by Team B)= D
formula = C-D=E
E-D=F
where E is the goals scored and F is the goals taken...
Apply it on Spain Pakistan,,you'll see the answer will be 2-1 in favor of Spain...
and apply the formula on Spain Netherland, the result will be 4-2, don't believe, have a try.
apply the formula on Netherland Pakistan..result will be 1-4...
When In Doubt Check It Out...

Hope Floats...
Pakistan need to win this one.......I know odds are against us...but so what.....odds never favor the champion.....I am not saying big words but I realize that having so many big names in the past and with having ace penalty corner specialist now and a technically sound coach.....they should have to deliver what is expected from them. It is late but not too late for them. Hope floats...and I knew that but I believe in Pakistan and I have faith in them. Inshallah they will deliver.

This is not Spain palying. They are choking and too defensive in the first half. plus they got a booking too QUEMADA. Common Pakistan, keep aggression, keep attackin.in. Shabbir should play behind Abbasi rather than behind Jawwad. AND Sohail you miss the first one in the dying seconds but .... nothing is lost as yet..keep going , spain is already on the defense try to make full of the opportunity.

No Surprise
Well, no matter what we all have predicted. No matter what we all think after losing with such a shame. All that matters is "Where the hell is Pakistani Hockey goin?".
I mean look at the spaniards. Thay have all their bases covered. Pakistani forwards couldn't break into their strong defense. And when we did manage to penetrate couple of times, we screwed big time. The last thing we want to do is push the ball with out foot into the goal........I think its about time we should realize that as of today Pakistani hockey sucks. I mean if we couldn't even beat Spain in our home ground what else you expect.
And last but not least....Dont spend too much money on Oltman, get a Desi coach.

Poor performance from Pakistan. They collapsed badly against both Holland & Spain.
I think Pakistan hockey is declining like India did 25+ years ago.
In the recent past Pakistan were producing fantastic players to enable them to compete with the more organised & athletic European/ Aussie teams, but since Shahbaz they have been really struggling.
In the current team only Waseem would make it into the great Pak teams of the 80s.
Nadeem's presence would have made a difference.
The future doesn't look too bright.

What No Australia...!
Looking at current state of Pakistan hockey, CHOKER is the word that comes to the mind.

Pakistan would have finished the round robin group standing at number 4 position, if the Australians were to participate.

You can not win the tournament just by wishing, your team has to come out & perform as if there is no tommorow. Where was the gutsy forward line against the Spainiards?

What happened to the advantage of the home crowed?? Like India, Pakistan is also chasing the past glory rainbow on the wings of wishful thinking.

Teams need legs to carry their forwards to opponent's goal. Days of the "FLYING HORSE" are a distant memory.

Fitness is the name and winning is the game. Days of hockey terrorism are over without the devastating front line & fit athelatic players.

About this site
Looking at the abysmal standard of English used by most posters on this site, it may be better to have it in punjabi...

Here are a few gems - "think from their brains", "rettain the old glory", "Forwads should rotate the ball between them", "mid feilders and try to score a goal dont try to take penelty corners"...

It's just pathetic to see all these decent well-meaning fans struggling to put across their deep feelings in an alien language.

What a disgrace. Pakistani hockey is over and the players should hang up their boots. And all the experts should just be quiet. Its going to make no difference.
The pakis are not fit or disciplined. Heck europeans work hard and keep themselves in shape.
They deserve to win. If you can't run you have no business playing hockey. That sums it.
Good bye.
