Pakistan's top hockey player Wasim Ahmed, who announced his retirement last month, has expressed his desire to make a comeback in the national team.

He told reporters that if the Pakistan hockey team wanted him, he would take back his retirement decision.

"If the team would require my services, I would not hesitate to come back," he told reporters before being whisked away by Pakistan Hockey Federation's (PHF) Marketing Director Naveed Haider who was overhead as saying: "You shouldn't be talking to the press."

According to the News, Ahmed said: "As far as I am concerned, I have retired from international hockey. The only thing I want to repeat is that I would be ready whenever required for national duty." (ANI)

You should not have retired even if they threw you out Wasim. There are very few good players in Pakistan with your level of skill. Nobody in the squad will replace a left half like you. I think both you and Sohail must reconsider playing for PAK.
