This Sunday ses the last 16 of the Mens and Womens Cup competitions.

The Women's cup holders Bowdon Hightown make the long trip to fellow Womens Premier 1 side Harleston Magpies. Last season's runners up Fyffes Leicester also have to travel to play Hounslow & Ealing. The current EHL leaders Chelmsford play host to fellow Premier 1 side Olton. The two non-EHL sides left in the competition both face top flight opposition. Nelson make the trip across the Pennines to Doncaster and Sunbury welcome Canterbury to Hampton Community College.

There are three ties in the North West with Sunderland making the (for them) short trip to Preston Leyland, Poynton entertaining Slough and Liverpool Sefton, who are riding high in Premier 3, looking to shock Clifton from Premier 1.

In the Men's competiton the tie of the round is the clash between Surbiton and Reading which is a re-run of last season's final which was won by Reading. There are two other all Premier 1 match ups with Canterbury travelling to Old Loughtonians and high-flying Loughborough Students taking on Firebrands.

Preston, the only non-EHL side left in the competition, face a daunting task at home to Guildford who are currently fourth in Mens Premier 1. There are two ties involving EHL Premier 2 sides with Nottingham making the short trip to Belper and Southgate playing Bournville. There is an exciting local derby between Holcombe who currently lead Mens Premier 3 and East Grinstead who are doing likewise in Mens Premier 2.

Old adversaries Cannock and Beeston meet at the Morris Ground and following this game, and once all results are known, the draw for the Quarter Finals in both competitions will be made in the clubhouse.

The meeting of Cannock and Beeston (again) just gives Beeston the chance to win for a change.
