A 3-3 draw with China for the New Zealand men's hockey team in the final warm-up match for the Champions Trophy

Time to get things together for the New Zealand men's hockey team.

They have drawn 3-all with China in their last Champions Trophy warm-up match in Lahore, with Lloyd Stephenson scoring twice.

The other goal scorer was Gareth Brooks.

Coach Kevin Towns says the team started to come together nicely, after a disappointing start in which they went two goals down.

In the second half they tightened things up a bit and made better use of the ball.

That draw goes with the 4-1 win over Germany and the 5-0 loss to Pakistan in the three warm-up matches.

Towns says his players know they must lift their game for the main competition and, while they are disappointed with their below par performances in the warm-ups, they are determined to make amends.

New Zealand's first game in the Champions Trophy is against the Netherlands on Saturday.
