Australia 3 New Zealand 0
JESSICA Arnold scored twice as Australia beat New Zealand at the women's Champions Trophy hockey tournament today.

The win means Australia advance to the bronze medal match at the expense of New Zealand.

The defending champions will face either the Netherlands, Germany or Argentina - all of whom are bidding for a spot in the final.

New Zealand will play for fifth against China.

Arnold opened the scoring in the 19th minute off a penalty corner and Australia held on to the edge at halftime as New Zealand failed with three penalty corner attempts.

New Zealand had a equalising goal disallowed seven minutes after the break, and Australia doubled the score three minutes later when Nikki Hudson smashed in a pass from Suzie Faulkner.

Arnold capped the scoring in the 63rd with a penalty shot into the upper left corner.
