The Spaniards, coached by Dutchman Maurits Hendrlis, finished fourth in the Athens Olympics. They were also the runners up in the last European Championship held in Barcelona.
The Europeans would reach India on November 26 before heading for Chandigarh for the Test matches. They would leave for Lahore, venue of the December 4-12 Champions Trophy, on December 1.
The Indian contingent is curently undergoing training in Chandigarh under the supervision of chief coach Gerhard Rach and his deputy Jagbir Singh.
Earlier the German national team was likely to visit the country for a two-Test series. But it had to be cancelled after they expressed their inabilities to play in a series just before the Champions Trophy.
