The pools have been composed in compliance with the FIH Tournament Regulations, which are available on www.WorldHockey.org.

The Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) will hear the appeal by the Hellenic Hockey Federation in relation to its participation in the Games, in Lausanne on 19 May 2004. Once the outcome of this matter is known, the position of South Africa in the men’s competition will be finalised.

As soon as the match schedule for the women’s competition is confirmed, there will be a joint press release issued by ATHOC and FIH. However, the match schedule for the men’s competition will not be finalised until the decision of CAS is known.

cOME ON aRGEGENTINA!!
WE have a group much easier than the b. however, the gold will be us..so never mind the team that plays with us..
Woman hockey, have clearly 4 top teams, that can beat the others much more easily:Argentina, Netherlands, China and Australia. Although i wuold like that argentina won the gold medal, all of these 4 teams have really chances to win.

Provide Some Balance
I still believe, apart from rankings, the pools should also be divided evenly according to continent. Look, both Oceania teams are in the same pool and 3 out of 4 European teams are in one pool.

This method gives some global appeal to hockey spectators

Where are the GB ladies ???

oh yeah that's right I remember now, we effed up big style

don't care who wins but Argies are favourite in my humble opinion. But if a team like ours can fail to qualify, then be prepared for some surpises in Athens

Gb
I think looking at the draw , GB should pull out as the SAfricans did in the last Olympics as why spend all the money when Gb is only probably going to win against Egypt in the group..!
Spend it on the new generation of younsters who may have a chance next time

argentina!!
When the britians came here (argentina) last year, they showed a good hockey, they ausence at the olympics is very sourprising. I don´t undertand something, whhen they came to Argentina, they were G.B, and when they took part in the lasy Champions, it was only the inglish team. why ??? why don´t they play like Gb, which is a better team?
