Indian goal keeper Helen Marry is declared the best goal keeper of the competition. It is the first occasion when Indian goal keeper has achieved this distinction in any international meet.
Indian coach MK Kaushik has also distinguished himself by completing a hattrick of different kind. First he won an Olympic gold by being a member of Indian hockey team at 1980 Moscow Olympic Games and then after taking to coaching, he guided Indian men team to win Asiad gold at Bangkok in 1998 after 32 long years. Now he is the main guiding force behind this classic achievement of Indian women.
